Community:
Websters Dictionary summarizes the essence of Community:
The people with common interests living in a particular area
A group of people with a common characteristic or interest living together within a larger
society
Joint ownership or participation
How does a community manage to share space and be civil, kind and proactive to keep
the community whole?
Management has a really big part of keeping the community connected, the common
interest and joy in growing food and flowers is the base of connection, but it goes
further. In our little garden we try to help others, food is collected and donated, focus is
not just on what we do for ourselves, but how can we help others.
Pride keeps the garden full and productive, connection gives a place for conversation,
respect makes the machine run smoothly. We admire each other’s handiwork, we
marvel at the beekeepers efforts, the quiet and peace of sitting in the center of a full
bustling (birds, bees and bunnies) lush space heals the soul.
We are blessed, we are fulfilled, we are connected.
