Hi Everybody…

A Friendly Reminder: All gardeners are required to give at least two hours a month service to the garden grounds. The next official workdays are:

Saturday, April 16th, 9am
& Sunday, April 17th, 10am.

Choose which day works best for you. Also, every Friday is an unofficial workday, so you can come help out Friday afternoon if Saturday or Sunday is bad for you. You will be required to sign in for your work hours.

Workdays last until we’re finished, the sun goes down or we’re all too tired to continue, usually around 3.

A notebook log will be left in the shed for you to log your work hours in the event you cannot make it any official or unofficial workdays.

For newcomers (and a reminder for resident gardeners): the workdays are not for working on your own plot; workdays are meant to give dedicated time to serve the community areas, weed, move & spread compost, fix any neglected community areas, etc.

A note about what to bring to the workdays: bring gloves and wear sturdy shoes. Please, do not wear flip-flops. If you have cordless power tools like drills or drivers, bring them. If you have extra scrap lumber or useful items you are getting rid of, bring them down, too! We have some garden tools, but it’s a great idea to bring your own. Norma says that screwdrivers are great for pulling weeds (I can’t wait to try that!)

We’ll be concentrating on weeding and spreading wood chips in the pathways, cleaning up the compost areas as well as weeding and preparing the terrace for the season. Justin & I laid a brick pathway last weekend, but the terrace in general, needs a lot of love. Also the perimeter of the garden needs to be weeded, cleared, and prepared for transplanting.

More than all of the above, bring a healthy attitude and a good night’s rest! See you soon!
